Our food philosophy - LOCAL
Locality
We will grow or source as much produce as we can locally, and create opportunities to learn new knowledge and skills, and gain experience, for our neighbours to also be able to ‘grow’ locally. Everything we do is to facilitate growth, individually and at a community level, leaving the world a bit better off.
Opportunity
We will create opportunities for engaging with nature, connecting, learning, being present, and enjoying the ordinary things in life.
Creativity
We will add value to everything we do, using creativity paired with quality to surprise and delight our guests and students. We will not cut corners. We will not be ordinary. We will showcase and honour the extraordinary gifts of nature ever present around us.
Adventure
We will take each guest and student on an adventure into nature, bringing attention to the land and connecting people to earth, and giving food provenance in its origins.
Learning
We will teach our neighbours, guests and students all the components of the food supply chain, from growing, to preparing, to plating, to enjoying, to minimising waste. We teach so that people can gain new skills, and in turn grow in terms of confidence and belief. Learning creates new opportunities for repeating the LOCAL philosophy on a household, neighbourhood and community level.

"Super happy with the friendly staff, location, the mission of this café, their food and their drinks! They even have board games for your gaming pleasure... The Reuben sandwich was a pleasant surprise. I'd buy that and share it with my whole family. They would love it too. 🙌 Coffee and hot chocolate, again and again. Love love love that 100% of profit goes to charity. It's the icing on the cake!"
